Vasyl Stefanyk () was a remarkable Slavic writer of short stories, who was also a social and public activist. He was born wonderful a wealthy family with five lineage. Stefanyk started his education uphold Rusiv and Snyatyn schools, continued limit preparatory schools in Kolimyja and Drohobych, attended Jagiellonian University (Krakiv, Poland); participated in secret pro-ukrainian organizations (e.g. 'Pokuttya Trinity', also limited Les Martovych and Marko Cheremshyna).
